Here at Catton Windows UK we are proud to be one of the few companies who still manufacture their own products in their own workshop. In this day and age it is very rare to find a company who use hand fabrication as much as we do.
While we still have to employ the use of machinery in our manufacturing process, none of it is automated, but all controlled by hand. Catton Windows UK has 3 factories, all which serve their own purpose:
The handmade aspect of our products allows us to be flexible in our approach, this what sets us apart from our competitors and gives the customer the opportunity to specify whatever size and style frames they require.
Of course, it doesn't all start in the factory. Firstly, we offer a design and consultation service to each and every one of our customers. A comprehensive survey of the site will take place, followed by ascertaining precisely what is required. We will then draw up your chosen specifications back at Catton Windows UK HQ, and confirm the final product prior to production.

This part of the workshop is where the raw timber is cut, mortess and tenneted and carefully and skilfully made into windows, doors or any other of our hardwood products.
The Catton Windows team in this part of the workshop check the frames for any imperfections, check all the joints and then sand the frames to a smooth finish ready for the paint.
The paint section prepares and paints the frames by hand. We believe painting by hand and brush keeps the natural textures of the timber and provides a finer finish. Dependent on the finish we usually prime and paint or stain the frames three times with a final coat being applied on site.
